The legal team also expects students to agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions when applying for the Growing Your Community Scholarship.

Additionally, applicants must submit complete applications by May 15, 2026, if they want to be eligible for the scholarship’s $2,500 award.

How Do I Apply?

Students interested in applying for the Growing Your Community Scholarship must create a video addressing the scholarship topic below. Upon completing a video that addresses the scholarship topic and celebrates their achievements, students can complete the application form on this page.

Please add a link to your video before submitting the form on this page for consideration. The team encourages students to upload their videos as unlisted videos on YouTube, then include a URL link along with the rest of the form.

The scholarship selection committee will only consider complete scholarship applications for the $2,500 award. The team recommends that students double-check their forms and videos before completing the application process.

Scholarship Video Topic

The Growing Your Community Scholarship celebrates students who have embraced opportunities for personal growth and connection and who are committed to helping others thrive.

Murphy Trial Law wants incoming and current college students to think critically about what community means to them when applyingApplicants must submit original videos between two and three minutes in length, going into detail about the communities that have influenced them.

The scholarship selection committee wants students to discuss how they’ve contributed to their school and larger community, as well as how students hope to continue making a positive impact on the communities they are a part of.

How to Create a Video for Murphy Trial Law’s Growing Your Community Scholarship Application

Students applying for the Growing Your Community Scholarship need to record their videos in well-lit areas while holding their recording devices as still as possible. Students should also mention their full name and the name of the Growing Your Community Scholarship at either the beginning or end of the video.

Applicants using sources need to cite those sources as well as any media editing tools used to create their videos. Likewise, students can use copyright-free materials to supplement their scripts, though the inclusion of additional footage isn’t required. The scholarship selection committee will not choose its winner based on the quality of a video’s editing.

That said, students should create original videos for this application. The use of AI to modify a student’s voice, create fake actors, draft a false script, or generate a video wholesale will result in a student’s application being removed from the applicant pool.

When Is the Application Deadline?

Students interested in the Murphy Trial Law Growing Your Community Scholarship have until May 15, 2026, to complete and submit their applications. Unfortunately, the scholarship selection committee will not consider applications submitted after this deadline.

After the scholarship deadline passes, the scholarship selection committee reserves up to three months to choose its winner. Please do not contact Murphy Trial Law during this time, as the legal team cannot answer any questions about the status of a student’s application.
